Why Your Web Sites Speed Matters
The BBC have released a very interesting article based on the research from Dynatrace.
The article states that “A page load time of 2.5 seconds or below strikes the right balance between functionality and speed.” and any movement above 3 seconds then has a relative quantitative effect of the number of customers leaving the website.
According to the research website are actually getting slower, rather than quicker. This is due to amount of interactivity, images and videos that are now a requisite of the modern web site. But one of the biggest speed killers is the number of external connections / data sources / websites that are being integrated into websites. e.g. connections to Google, Facebook and Twitter.
